Immersed is a collection of photo+text essays I published in 2018 about millennial artisans: young, modern, intelligent creatives engaged in the pursuit of mastery in their respective analogue crafts.
At the time I noticed that many of my peers were growing ever more disillusioned with their life. They generally struggled to find meaning in their work and they didn't particularly like how they were spending their days.
And since I was also struggling with my own vocation, I set out to find some contemporaries who were doing a radically different type of work: creating things with their hands and (mostly) without the use of a computer screen. What's life like for them?
